This week Yvette Torres-Rahman, Partnerships Director at Business Fights Poverty, interviews Neil Jeffery, CEO, Water & Sanitation for the Urban Poor (WSUP).

Hear from Neil about what WSUP are focusing on and how in his view the private sector can play a role in expanding access to water sanitation and hygiene (WASH).

Neil provides examples of partnerships WSUP are involved in and highlights one such partnership with Unilever in Ghana involving starting up a brand new business venture, called CleanTeam, which rents attractive, branded portable toilets and collects the waste multiple times per week, at a profit.

A key take-out is that cross-sector partnership is a very promising approach for WASH. Neil shares his advice for other NGOs and for companies looking to partner for sustainable impact at scale.
