COVID-19 has impacted us all, but the most severe impacts are being felt by the most vulnerable people. On March 12 2020, Business Fights Poverty launched a programme to accelerate global learning and local action to support the most vulnerable people and enterprises in companies’ value chains, communities and beyond.
We started by developing a Response Framework with Jane Nelson, Director, Corporate Responsibility Initiative at Harvard Kennedy School followed shortly after by a Rebuild Better Framework, to help businesses harness their core business, philanthropy and policy engagement to support the lives, livelihoods and learning of the most vulnerable.
Over the course of 12 months we have co-created a Collaboration Blueprint, 3 Frameworks and 10 topic-specific Action Toolkits. We have engaged over 85,000 people and our highly rated Rebuild Better Virtual Summits have attracted 5,438 attendees. Participants of our written discussions have posted 2,579 comments which have helped inform peers and the co-creation process. We thank our community and supporters for their active engagement in this work.
Visit the Business Fights Poverty Respond, Recover and Rebuild Better Centre to access all these resources and continue Rebuilding Better.
We are now in the process of launching a Climate Justice Programme because climate change is affecting us all, but the most severe impacts are again being felt by the most vulnerable people, who contribute least to the causes of the problem.
We hope you will join the conversation on how business can ensure people are at the centre of climate action. Learn more here.
