Responsible and Accountable Garments Sector (RAGS) Challenge Fund – First Call for Project Concepts

The Responsible and Accountable Garments Sector (RAGS) Challenge Fund is now operational and is formally calling for Project Concepts. Visit the website for more information. The deadline for applications 26 April 2010.

Funded by UKaid for the UK Department for International Development (DFID), RAGS has been set up to drive better working conditions for women and other vulnerable workers in ready-made garment production in developing countries.

On a cost-sharing basis, RAGS provides grant funding of up to £250,000 to organisations, both for-profit and not- for-profit, that are associated with labour conditions in the garment sector in poorer African and Asian countries supplying the UK market. This includes private businesses, trade unions and members of both ethical and fair trade movements.

RAGS is now open and is inviting Project Concepts from prospective grant beneficiaries for their proposed projects.

The deadline for submission of Project Concept Note is 17:00 (GMT), Monday, 26 April 2010. Please ensure that your PCN is submitted by no later than this date to be considered for this first call for grant applications.

Should you have any questions about RAGS and its application process, please contact the Fund Manager, Dave Runganaikaloo.
