Pearson launch online MBA programme

Increasingly, students who need a flexible path to earning a degree are looking to online learning programs to access quality higher education. In response, higher education institutions around the country are investing in comprehensive educational services that develop and scale online programs that are high quality, rigorous and drive student achievement.

Pearson Embanet, the leading provider of online program services, and the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business are announcing that they are partnering to launch an online MBA program. Classes are scheduled to begin in January 2014. The Smith School is an internationally recognized leader in management education and research and is one of 12 colleges and schools at the University of Maryland, College Park. The online MBA will offer specializations in the areas of Finance, Accounting, Information Systems and Business Analytics, and Marketing. With a faculty that is consistently ranked in the top 10 by the Financial Times and Bloomberg Businessweek, this program will give students experiential learning opportunities through Action Learning Projects. These hands-on team projects give students experience working together with businesses and organizations in their local area and with partners around the world.

The MBA program at the Robert H. Smith School of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). AACSB International is the premier accrediting agency for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs in business administration and accounting.
