Each week between now and the conference we will feature one of the themes being explored during the event.

This week we are going to explore the Partnership Zone.

Our friends at Ethicore and The Partnering Initiative are leading this Zone and will be challenging attendees to think differently about impact partnerships.

Rachael Clay, Director of Ethicore and former senior leader at Oxfam and Darian Stibbe, Executive Director of The Partnering Initiative, creator of the Certificate in Partnering Practice and forma NASA physicist will be joined by business, NGO and policy leaders and practitioners.

During the day the Partnership Zone will cover two sessions: Advocacy Partnerships and Partnerships with Innovation and Impact.

Advocacy Partnerships

Advocacy partnerships are essential, yet challenging.

Building on the learning developed during Business Fights Poverty’s Advocacy Partnerships Challenge  – This interactive session calls for policy makers as well as public affairs, programming, partnerships, policy and advocacy professionals to share their experiences of working behind the scenes to influence for structural and sectorial change.

We will explore the essential building blocks for advocacy partnerships to release the power of policy and political capital, changing mind-sets and building trust.

Partnerships with Innovation and Impact

The ‘Partnerships with Innovation and Impact’ session will explore how to maximise sustainable development when working in partnerships. Examining some of the most forward looking and impact focused partnerships across business, institutions and NGOs – revealing the opportunities, challenges and impacts.

During the session you will work through critical steps to generate value through innovative partnerships, brought to life with learning from business and INGO leaders and their partnership experiences and insights.

By bringing together the diversity of resources, thinking and approaches of business, NGOs, investors, the UN and other development actors – partnerships have the potential to generate real innovation for economic, social and environmental impact. This interactive workshop takes you through essential steps to curate innovative partnerships, learning from leading partnerships along the way.
