IBLF – Expert Insight: SABMiller’s Head of Sustainable Development … from Business Fights Poverty on Vimeo.
“It is a myth that businesses are controlled by rich shareholders sitting in their private members’ club in New York or London, quaffing champagne…”
Andy Wales, Global Head of Sustainable Development, SABMiller engages in an exciting video dialogue with IBLF’s Shivvy Jervis on his newly published book ‘Big Business, Big Responsibilities: From Villains to Visionaries’, co-written with Matthew Gorman and Dunstan Hope, and the role of organisations such as IBLF in the corporate responsibility space.
Andy asserts that innovation is at the heart of successful businesses, adding that a significant part of international development is driven by business. He also expresses that many members of the public are not aware of how much change is actually going on within business
“Yes, there are still challenges and yes there are some companies that need to improve – but there are companies out there who are taking (the role of business in development) very seriously and innovating,” explains Andy.
