Last week at the WEF in Cape Town, Accenture published a new point of view paper, “Convergence Economy: Re-thinking International Development in a Converging World”. The paper talks about the emergence of a marketplace for development outcomes where “silos give way to systems, competency trumps incumbency and markets matter more than historical or outdated mandates”.
Co-authors, Gib Bulloch, Executive Director of Accenture Development Partnerships and Peter Lacy, Managing Director of Sustainability Services, EALA, and Chris Jurgens, International Programmes Director, Accenture Development Partnerships claim that they don’t pretend to have all the answers but are keen to contribute to the debate about the broader role of business in development.
