How Can We Put People at the Heart of Climate Action to Build Resilience and Shared Prosperity?

As the world comes together for COP31, we invite the Business Fights Poverty community to explore how climate action can better protect vulnerable communities, create economic opportunities and deliver shared prosperity.

Building on conversations at our Global Goals Summit 2026 during New York Climate Week, we will look at what a more people-centred approach to climate action means in practice.

Those who have contributed least to climate change are often the most vulnerable to its impacts. At the same time, the transition to a low-carbon economy offers opportunities to create jobs, strengthen livelihoods and build a more inclusive future. How can we ensure that people are at the heart of both?

The event will include a panel discussion with Natura, UNDP and the World Bank, followed by community conversations over Zoom and in our written discusson forum.
