About Me

For over 20 years, I have been working on strategies to tackle poverty by harnessing the innovative power of the private sector - from international businesses to individual entrepreneurs.

Back in 2008, I created Business Fights Poverty as a platform to connect all the energy and innovation of individuals pioneering new ways of fighting poverty through business. I wanted to help contribute to scaling the creative revolution already underway.

Now the world’s largest community of its kind, Business Fights Poverty has developed an innovative approach to driving meaningful collaboration, focused on collectively identifying and addressing specific “Challenges” around how to harness and scale the social impact of business.

For each Challenge we bring together the best and most passionate professionals from across our network and beyond to tackle the Challenge question over a specific timeframe (from 6 to 9 months). Each Challenge has a clearly defined output and longer-term outcome. As important as the outputs are the meaningful relationships we build in the process.

I believe that we need to collaborate more deeply than ever - to accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals and to defend the progress that has already been made.
