By Zahid Torres-Rahman, CEO, Business Fights Poverty

Learn more abut the searchable Action Mapping Tool with over 200+ examples of best practice, a featured resource in the Business and COVID-19 Response Centre.

Over the last few weeks, it has become clear that we are facing the worst humanitarian and economic crisis of our generation. In these troubling times, it has been heartening to see multinational corporations across the world urgently mobilising to support the most vulnerable.  At Business Fights Poverty, we have been directing all our energy into supporting these efforts, by sharing global best practice to support local action.

As part of this effort, we have launched the Business and COVID-19 Action Mapping Tool – funded with UK aid from the British Government – to showcase almost 300 good practice examples of actions already being taken by MNCs to protect lives, livelihoods and learning.   I hope that the Action Mapping Tool will inspire many other companies to take action in support of their most vulnerable employees, suppliers, customers and communities.

The Action Mapping Tool includes actions that are being taken across the whole of the Business and COVID-19 Response Framework. It provides examples of MNCs identifying and scaling up innovative solutions through core business capabilities and operations; leveraging philanthropy and social investments; and engaging in policy dialogue and helping to strengthen institutions.

We would love to hear about the actions being taken across the Business Fights Poverty Network as we face this tremendous challenge together. If you want to share an example of good practice with us, or want to update one already included, you can do so here. The database is available via the Business and COVID-19 Response Centre and is being constantly expanded.

Business Fights Poverty was founded on the belief that great things can be achieved when business unleashes the power of purpose, in collaboration with others. More than ever before, the actions of business will be decisive in creating a better future for the most vulnerable.
