Doing Business 2009: New World Bank Report Launched

The World Bank and International Finance Corporation have just launched their report “Doing Business 2009“.

For the fifth year in a row, Eastern Europe and Central Asia led the world in Doing Business reforms, according to Doing Business 2009. However, the good news is that more regulatory reforms were recorded worldwide between June 2007 and June 2008 than in any previous year — 113 economies implemented 239 reforms.

View the top 10 reformers.

View the summaries for Africa, East Asia and Pacific, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Latin America and Caribbean, Middle East and North Africa and South Asia.

Download the report overview here and the press release here.

  1. Hello,

  2. An excellent video. I saw Brian Richardson demonstrate this technology at close quarters at BMZ/InWEnt’s 11th International Business Forum in Bonn, 2006. It was very impressive – and simple. A really practical tool for people wanting to do small transactions and who are not in reach of a bank. The video brings it up to date.
